28th February - The photo that you see on the right is me after I had finished drawing all my photos that will be used for my video. Surprisingly, it did not take me longer than 2 days for me to draw my pictures, as I took inspiration from drawing found on Google, and I drew alterations to fit my vision. I drew my drawings in pencil, and wrote the lyrics of the song in pencil as well, but I wrote over the lyrics in black pen in order to make it more legible and understandable. I decided to not go over my drawing in black pen is so that it would look quite moody and ominous. This is a deliberate action, as I think it would match the musical atmosphere of the song; sombre and slow.

In order to edit my video, I decided to use the software editing app CapCut. I used this platform as it is not only easy to download, but as has many functions, such as cutting, speed adjustments, music integration, stickers and texts. You also have the ability to edit photos on the app as well, which is very convenient for me because since my coursework consists of photos that will be compiled together to create a video. With the help of this app, I have the ability to edit my photos in case they need any adjustments, like the colour grading and the clarity of the pictures.

The screenshot that you can see above is me editing my coursework video. You are able to notice the different photos I took of my drawings that serve the basis of my video. Drawing the music video instead of filming it is a more creative process, as it allows me to use my artistic skills in order to convey the message of the song; domestic abuse within a toxic relationship. Having a narrative based music video is a common norm in music videos, particularly animated music videos. One example of a animated music video that contains a narrative is The Weeknd's "Snowchild" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0JKdFjWkLA). Using an animated music video directly helps my audience visualize the narrative of the song, and helps my target audience understand the message of the song; domestic abuse, as well as a toxic relationship.

With regards to the transitions in my video, I used several different transitions. To give some examples, the black fade transition is used when the intro card dissolves into the first scene of the video, and when specific scenes cut to the instrumental parts of the songs with the drawing of a man playing the guitar used the slide transition. Then there is also the slide transition, when the disconnected brakes scene changes into the Antichrist scene. However, most of the transitions seen in my video are quick shots, that transition from one short scene to another. By using transitions between scenes of my video, I am utilizing a technical skill that are seen is most music videos. Transitions are used in music videos in order to help guide the story along, and can also help set the mood, tone and pace to the video. Transitions are very important for my video, as they tell my audience what is going to happen next, and helps guide my audience throughout the narrative.
