Magazines

A magazine is a periodical which contains essays, articles, poems and stories which are published periodically. The main purpose of a magazine is to distribute new and information to a specific demographic and to entertain a certain audience who subscribe to the magazine. There are many common features of a magazine which include a masthead, byline, lead article, main image, coverline, headline, house style, font and a spread. There are three types of periodicals which are trade periodical, popular periodical and scholarly periodical. Each periodical has their own subsections and talk about their own subject matter and what appeals to their audience. There are many different types of magazines, which are fashion, men's and women's lifestyle and celebrity life and gossip. Some magazines include editorials, which are articles which are dedicated to talking about the author or writer's opinions about a specific topic and usually, there are images aside it. Each magazine has its own demographic/audience and subject matter.
