My Mood Board

The picture above is my mood board of what my magazine would feature. My mood board features pictures of homeless people, which is relevant to my main article, which will be about the coverage of homeless people in the media. They are both wearing all black clothing, which in my opinion represents the darkness that they feel and live in (as they have no home or anywhere to go to). In the pictures, they explicitly show that they live on the streets, which is where most homeless people live. These features form a symbolic code (according Barthes's Semiotics theory), as we commonly associate dark clothing and living on the streets with homeless people. Most homeless people share these traits.


I created my mood board on the graphic design website Canva. I decided to create it on this website because they already have a bunch of mood board templates that you can customize and use yourself. I picked the template "Neutral Simple Spring Aesthetic Mood board Instagram Post" and deleted everything in the original template and customized it myself, using the photos you can see above. Canva (in general) is a great website for users to customize and design their own graphic designs and design them in an easy and fast way.
