In order to create the social media site for my artist, instead of creating an actual Instagram account, I decided to just simply edit a template of an Instagram account. I chose to do it this way as I think it would be less time consuming (as creating an account can take a while). It is also because since I also have my photos picked for this site, I can just simply add it to the squares that you can see in this screenshot. I found this template on the graphic web design Canva. Finding this template on Canva was really helpful, as I did not have to screenshot an actual account and remove all of the pre-existing photos, so it has saved up my time to create my fake social media site. The reason why I decided to create an Instagram account is because Instagram is a social media platform that is widely used by many people (including musicians who want to promote their music) across the world. Using Instagram will help my artist get discovered by many people all over the world, and can potentially attract a wide audience.
In order to edit the photos for my fake Instagram account, I also used Canva. This is convenient as I am also creating the account on Canva, and I thought that creating and editing the photos on Canva is very time efficient and easier for me. Canva allows me to edit my photos in many ways. For example, it can help increase or decrease the brightness of a photo and can enhance the vibrance and saturation of a picture.
In regards to the pictures for my account, I added in 5 pictures. The account's username handle is weird_alyankovic. I picked this for the username as it is introducing who the artist is, and is pointing out his identity. The profile picture is also my artist, further showing the audience who he is. There will also be a Youtube link in the bio section of the account. This helps the audience find out where the video is uploaded, further helping me promote the video.
The fifth and fourth posts (made up of 2 posts in a row) is the artist's name on top and the song title right below it. Right next to the texts is my artist playing the guitar. The guitar symbolizes the fact that the song's genre is a soft acoustic guitar ballad. The artist name and song title is to let the audience know the artist's identity and for the public to know what the song is, and to hopefully listen to it. This picture is also the front cover of my my CD, so I am also teasing to the audience what the CD front cover will look like. The 2 (or sometimes 3 posts in a row) is used to reveal on big image is a common tactic used by artists in order to promote their music. One example of this is when Taylor Swift posted 3 images in a row in order to the reveal the album cover of her 2020 album "Folklore". It would make sense that I would incorporate this technique for my account.
The third post of the account is the first ever scene seen in the video, the scene where my artist is playing his guitar for his girlfriend and singing the first few lyrics of the song. This is to foreshadow what is going to appear in my video, so that the audience will be excited and intrigued about what is to come.
